Discover the Sea of Galilee

Tiberias is the city along the shores of Sea of Galilee.

You will get a view of the famous Golan Heights from the banks of the Sea of Galilee.

You will usually see the shores of Jordan that are on the other side of the Sea of Galilee, on clear days.

Have St Peters fish for lunch, and go for a short sail in a vessel on the See of Galilee.

A modern, secular city. Find nightlife, entertainment, sidewalk cafes and shopping.

Just about 50 km/30 miles NE of Jerusalem. Average time of travel is one hour from Jerusalem by road.

About 1400 feet below sea level, the Dead Sea region is believed to be the lowest point on planet earth. Watch chunks of salt floating in this sea. You can also float in the Dead Sea (due to the high density of minerals) after covering mineral-rich mud over your body. May be the only place in the world where you can float in the water without really trying to float.

In the desert near the Dead Sea you will see the hill where a few hundred Jews kept thousands of Roman solders at bay. Finally they chose to take their own lives rather than be captured. A cable car ride up is worth the view from the top.
